Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use the App:

Account Data: When you register or sign in, we collect your name, email address, authentication tokens, subscription status, and any profile details you provide (e.g., training goals, preferred units, or profile names).
Workout History: We store generated workout plans, exercise selections, logged sets, completion status, timers, and historical performance data so you can review progress and we can tailor future sessions.
Health Connect Exports: If you enable Health Connect sync, the App writes completed workout titles, start and end times, duration, exercise type, and a completed-set summary to the Health Connect store on your device. The App requests write-only workout access and does not read information from Health Connect.
OpenAI Interactions: Prompts sent to OpenAI and the responses returned (including generated workouts or recommendations) may be temporarily processed by our servers to fulfill your request. We log request metadata such as timestamps, model tier, and any error codes to monitor system health.
Device & Usage Information: We collect limited diagnostic data such as device model, app version, crash logs, and aggregated usage analytics to improve reliability and prioritize new features. We do not collect GPS location or precise health sensor data.

How We Use Your Information

Authenticate you and maintain your account.
Generate and personalize workout plans, recommendations, and summaries.
Sync workout history across devices and back up your training data.
Export completed workouts to Health Connect when you choose to enable that feature.
Monitor service performance, detect abuse, and debug issues.
Communicate important updates such as feature announcements, billing changes, or policy updates.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Data Retention

We retain account data and workout history for as long as your account is active so you can access historical insights. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required for legal, billing, or security reasons. Server logs related to OpenAI prompts are retained for up to 90 days to diagnose issues and improve model performance.

Workout records written to Health Connect are controlled through Health Connect and its retention settings. Turning off sync or deleting your trAIn account does not automatically delete records already written to Health Connect. You can review or delete those records in Health Connect settings.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information with:

Service Providers: Vendors who help deliver the App, such as hosting platforms, authentication providers, analytics tools, payment processors, and customer support software. They may only use the data to perform services for us and must protect it appropriately.
OpenAI: We send structured prompts containing the minimum necessary context (like goals, experience level, or recent progress) to generate workouts. Prompts are transmitted over encrypted channels and are subject to OpenAI’s data usage policies.
Health Connect: When you opt in, completed workout data is written to the on-device Health Connect store. Other apps can access that data only according to the permissions you grant them in Health Connect. trAIn does not send Health Connect data to advertising platforms or sell it.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable laws, legal processes, or government requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, other users, or the public.

Your Choices & Controls

Update profile defaults and personal information directly in the App.
Pause future Health Connect exports at any time in the App.
Manage or revoke trAIn’s access and delete exported records in Health Connect settings.
Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.
Opt out of marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link or contacting support.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your data, including encrypted network connections, access controls, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use unique passwords and keep your devices up to date.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or industry practices. When we make material changes we will notify you through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
